I believe it was more about making the people on earth as it is in Heaven. Trying to make everyone holy as it is in Heaven for after death, we all have to go and answer to Jesus, to see if we made it to Heaven.

Suppose this lawyer, right after questioning Jesus, saw a man half dead in the road. What do you think this lawyer would do? I think this lawyer would do likewise remembering what Jesus said.

Why did Jesus say, "Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and announce the Kingdom of God"? I guess Jesus said this because the dead that bury the dead are those who do not know Jesus as yet. They have not tasted the sweet presence & word of Jesus. They have no faith. That is why they are compared to the dead.
