Does Jesus believe lowly people are valuable? How valuable?
Yes. This made me think of the verse saying God resists the proud. Lowly people are valuable because they at humble. In all of these verses of these accounts they show us how to see the value in people who By today's standards and the standards back then are considered lowly but in actuality have more value than someone who you would think is valuable.

Define "Compassion"?
A deep caring for another, empathy, sympathy. A connection with that person as far as feeling how they feel and knowing what they are going through

What did you learn about Jesus` background that stands out or surprises you?
I knew very little about the social structure of the region Jesus grew up in and how there was very little Jewish independence in those times. It also surprised me that not one Jewish rabbi actually listened to him and and had the thought that wow he is the messiah. I kind of understand possibly why due to the little I know of the Jewish faith it could possibly be that they may have even been a little frightend but here was a man that was fully God and fully man born of a virgin whose womb was blessed by the spirit of God himself. They must have known about the trinity.
