What point is Jesus making when He states "eternal life" is knowing the Father and Jesus Christ? When Jesus came to earth He was God in flesh. If we believe in Jesus Christ and His teachings we will have eternal life. Blessings.

What point is Jesus making when He states "eternal life" is knowing the Father and Jesus Christ? I believe JESUS is commenting on the fact that he was brought into the world to save us from sin so we could have eternal life, that is if we invite him into our hearts and follow his teachings which all originate from the FATHER. Inviting JESUS is equivilent to inviting the FATHER which means eternal life for all who seek or welcome it.
