Why did Jesus wash the disciples` feet when Judas was present, rather than watiing until that betrayer had left? Jesus wanted to denmontrate his love for all Mankind, even those who would betray Him. Similarly, to Him asking "Father forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing", asking God to forgive the very people who crucified him.
