In Jesus day people often greeted each other with a kiss, a sign of intamacy and respect, which makes what Judas did all the more heinous. All who believe in Jesus must be careful not to look pious on the outside and say all the right things, but inwardly have an evil heart.

Why is religious hypocrisy so offensive to Jesus? Just because one displays the qualities of a good person who appears to be a man of God's way of life, he may not be that person deep down inside his soul. All too often, we believe we are hiding behind the shield of our churches and their preachings, when in fact we are not what we appear to be on the outside and this is very disturbing to our Heavenly Father.

How is it that the Christ is descended from David, and yet David still calls Him Lord? David, knowing that Joseph had taken Mary as his wife and that she was conceived by God with His Son, would cherish and worship the Christ as the way to Salvation and Eternal Life in God's Kingdom.
