He was speaking blasphemies, because according to their doctrine, ONLY God can forgive sins. Then Jesus, rebuking them, said that He has authority on earth (from God the Father) to forgive our sins. Compassion is being moved with pity and heartfelt sincere concern towards something. You wish to help them in any way that you know how. So Jesus was moved with pity and concern for the man with leprosy (and all of Gods children) that He wished to help this man, no matter the negative effect that it might have on himself. I can say that I have always been filled with compassion towards people. Especially when I was a child. However; as I got older and I was continuously hurt by others, I began to slowly lose that strong sense of compassion for people. Yet, as God has been opening my heart and eyes the past month or so, I feel a renewing in my passion to help others. I know that I wan't to dedicate my life to aiding other people in seeing God and finding happiness.
