What did Pilate perceive about Jesus that made him so reluctant to have Jesus executed? Pilate did not perceive Jesus to be an evildoer. He heard Jesus speak and heard the words and he could not pass judgement when he did not perceive evil.

Why do you think Peter denied Jesus? For fear that he would also be punished for preaching God's word. He knew he was to continue teaching but he feared that if they knew, he would be unable to do so.
