I learned that the Roman goverment then, seems to compare to our goverment system today in many ways. I also learned the reason for the large crowd of Jews during the arrest and crucifixion which, in my belief, is all part of God's perfect plan and timing.

Why did Jesus choose such a humble entrance (riding on a donkey) when He came into Jerusalem? It was written, that the Messiah (Jesus), would enter Jerusalem on the colt of a donkey. Jesus was humble and entered into Jerusalem in that manner so that the scriptures would be fulfilled.
