What was there about Jesus` message caused so many of His disciples to turn away? Those that left Jesus, left because they did not understand his word. When they couldn't understand, they couldn't believe.

What was there about Jesus` message caused so many of His disciples to turn away? When Jesus was talking about having to eat the flesh and drink the blood, he was talking in parables and they couldn't believe this.
