Bread represents the body of Christ.  Jesus is the bread of life; "And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, 'This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me,' Luke 22:19. Christ lives inside us. 

Fish symbolizes man, "Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men," Matthew 4:19.

The miracle of feeding 5000 shows us that for as many who believe in Jesus will be given life.  Everyone who desires to have Christ in their lives can, and must trust Jesus to feed our spirit.
