Why did John introduce Jesus as "the Lamb of God"? John the Baptist knew that he and Jesus were both miracles and sent by God to teach and to save the souls of many. He also knew that Jesus was to be the sacrficial lamb of God to forgive the sins of everyone.

Why did John introduce Jesus as "the Lamb of God"? John introduced Jesus as the "Lamb of God' because he saw the Holy Spirit descend upon him from heaven like a dove. John knew that this was the One sent by God, to take away the sins of the world. Jesus, the only Son of God would become the ultimate sacrifice to forgive our sins.
