If Jesus knew he was being betrayed "behold, the hand of him who betrays me", why not tell who was the betrayer? Because the plan of salvation had to be carried out. By telling who was the betrayer, the remaining apostles would have stopped the betrayer and thus our chance of salvation would not have come to pass.

Judas was one of the 12 men closest to Jesus. Why would Judas betray Jesus? Because he was tempted and sought material gain. He also didn't fully have faith which is what allowed him to be tempted.
