What is Jesus trying to teach with this parable? Hint: The vineyard (where grapes are grown) is Israel; The farmer is God; the servants are the prophets who were sent by God; the son is Jesus; and the tenants are religious leaders of the Jews. Jesus was trying to tell them that their actions would be punished, in addition the Kingdom of GOd would be given to others.

Why did Jesus answer their question with a question? Why didn`t he just say that his authority came from God? I am not sure. Maybe He wanted them to relate the scriptures, and what they said about John the Baptist and Jesus, to the times of Jesus, and then come to a conclusion that Jesus authority is from God.
