What are the works Jesus did that his followers do now because Jesus is with the Father?

Jesus showed us the way, He performed miracles to show what faith and believing can do, He taught us the way to live and treat others, He predicted what would happen to show that He was truly of His Father. He taught us that asking of Him was asking of the Father and loving Him was also loving the Father forever.

Why did Jesus invest so much in Peter even though He knew that Peter would deny Him?

Again, Jesus knew what was written to be and He also knew that there would have to be proof for the people to truly trust his words. To predict that Peter would deny Him 3 times would show that even the strong would have to be stronger to remain in His Kingdom and that forgiveness would always be there for us.

Why did Jesus allow Judas to betray Him, when He clearly knew Judas` evil intention?

Jesus knew in advance what was coming and to follow what was written, Judas was chosen from the beginning to be the traitor.
