Why were the Jews so angry that Jesus claimed to exist before Abraham was born? The Jews were angry that Jesus claimed to exist before Abraham because they did not and could not believe that He was the chosen one, Son of God, having existed before all time.

Why were the Jews so angry that Jesus claimed to exist before Abraham was born? They were angry because they didn't understand that Jesus was before Abraham was born. He said "I am" and they did not understand.. Blessings.
