What about Jesus` death impressed the Centurian so much that He realized Jesus was the Son of God? Ibelieve it was a culmination of events that convinced the centurion of who Jesus really was. The earth quake, darkened skies and possibly he even saw the saints being raised from the dead. I think it is ironic that the teachers and scribes didn't finally come to know who Jesus was, still is and always will be.

Why did those who passed by mock Jesus? People belittle things that they don't understand ... like the concept of Jesus amongst them being God (concept of faith.)
