How is Jesus` teaching like fresh wine requiring fresh wineskins? Jesus' teachings were new to so many and their minds had to be fresh to the new ideas and ways of the Lord. To believe in an invisible God that could not be seen or touched was new and his teachings needed to reach the people with open minds and hearts that were willing to accept His words.

Why did Jesus choose Matthew, a known taxgatherer and a despised man, to be His disciple? Matthew needed healed from his evil and sinful ways. Jesus knew that if Matthew, a man of influence and dislike, could be healed and changed into a teacher of God's word, he would be able to show his haters what change can do. He would be able to show them the new Matthew.
