What did Jesus mean when He said one can live even if he dies? Bonus question: Why did Jesus weep when He knew He would raise Lazarus?

Jesus was speaking about life after our physical body dies. Not sure why Jesus wept; maybe because Lazarus's sisters and others did not have faith? Not sure.

What did Jesus mean when He said one can live even if he dies? Bonus question: Why did Jesus weep when He knew He would raise Lazarus?

In this life the body will certainly die but if we seek JESUS and believe in him then we will have eternal life through the spirit.

To be honest, I'm not sure if JESUS wept because 1) he was saddened by their grief and their sincere loss of Lazarus and or 2) and perhaps more importantly, their lack of faith. They claimed they believed in JESUS and stated had he been there prior to Lazarus' death, could have saved him. If JESUS is the son of man and through him all things are possible, then why should they be sad? It's almost if they needed JESUS to raise him in order to truly believe.

I don't know if this is why he truly wept, so please feel free to comment if this is not the case.

Jesus was speaking of eternal life. He loved Lazarus and was so glad to have him alive.
