Why did Jesus use the greeting. "Peace be to you"? Was there special signiificance in this greeting? JESUS' entire ministry was built on peace, love & forgiveness. Greeting them in the following manner was done with love and affection, because he wanted them to feel at ease. Certainly, these were the men closest to JESUS, yet they still fled and left him to be handed over. JESUS wanted to ensure his greeting was one of peace to reassure them he loved them regardless of their actions, thoughts, wrongdoings or good deeds.
