Why did Jesus cry out, "My God, My God, why have You forsaken me?" Note: This is a direct quote from the Jewish Scripture, Psalm 22:1.

Taking the context of the Psalm and in the fall of man in Genesis this cry of anguish was a cry from a torn man bruised and broken who for the first time felt the presence of God taken away. It was an overwhelming shock for Jesus as a man to experience the non-communion of God. When the full effect of sin was upon Jesus, God turned his back form sin and thereby communion between the father an son was broken. It was a great cry of pain.

Why is it signficant that Jesus fulfilled what was predicted hundreds of years before? Note: Mark refers to the old Scriptures from the Prophet Isaiah (chapter 53) "He poured out his soul unto death, And He was numbered with the transgressors, And

GOd's word is true and he is a faithful God who is bent on redeeming ALL mandkind. Jesus came so that the scriptures will be fulfilled and all will know the Lord God of Israel who spoke these things is GOD. the odds of this happening one in appr 38 million!

What was Jesus feeling and thinking while he was mocked and humiliated in front of others? Recall Jesus` own teachings (Matt 5:11), "Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.

Jesus came so that the prophesies will be fulfilled. The punishment/mocking that Jesus experienced was foretold nearly a thousand years ago by the prophets. His experience on earth was not only our salvation but a sign of God's FAITHFULNESS.
