What was Jesus trying to teach about giving (amount, motive, attitute)?

The widow's offering was an excellent one to the lord because she gave all she had to give whereas the multiudes gave of their abundance. Everyone was expected to give - however, the rich were expected to give much more - this money was to be redistributed to the poor. God required that the rich supported the widows and orphans from their abundance. This was not happening and it angered Jesus.

Jesus said certain items belong to God that should be given back (rendered) to God. What are these items?

The things that belong to god are things spiritual which must be rendered to god. of course all resources are given by god and therefore belong to god and gos expects us to use these to his glory. However, I believe GOD is looking for us to respond to his love in sucha manner that he can be proud to call us his Sons and this come with giving god love in return for his love - Jesus said "Love is fulfillment of the laws".

The items that belong to God is our mind body and soul. Our faith in God, the love and acceptance. Being kind to each other, loving our neighbour as we love ourselves, forgiving others for what they have done to us. All these belong to God. Glory be to God in the highest.
