This is Jesus` sharp response to a trick question about divorce from religious lawyers. What does Jesus say is God`s role in a marriage? What motivation to stay together might Jesus offer a struggling couple?

The Prophets always confirmed the earlier revelations as per the traditions of God and some of them added to the general revelation some new knowledge. If Jesus did not confirm to Moses they could have claimed that he was false and therfore kill him (which they did anyways). Jesus said he came not to but to fulfill the laws, however he also said LOVE is the fulfilment of the laws. The hardhearted cannot love and therefore are stuck in LAWS.

Jesus exaggerates to makes the point that one should eliminate things that cause one to sin (disobey God). What things might you eliminate to be more spiritually healthy?

The things I might eliminate to be more spirtually healthy is to stop getting angry, learning to accept others for what they are, trying to be there for others, trusting others and forgiving them sincerely even if it hurts, having a positive attitude to life.

Jesus emphasizes the phrase "in my name" when refering to the miracle and giving a cup of water. What does it mean to do something in Jesus` name?

Apart form me you can do nothing...Said our Lord...and so it is, the glory and power is our Lord's and we play the part of delivery men who carry the message/healing/miracle to the sick. Coveting what rightfully belongs to the Lord is very dangerous. There is power in the name but this power must not be abused.
