Jesus was pleased because he knew she was doing from her heart, and she was not giving any old thing, but the best, that is how God wants us to give of her best in anything unselfishly. It must come from the depths of our heart and it must be done for through love.

Why was the woman`s act so pleasing to Jesus? Jesus was pleased with the woman`s sacrifice. She gave her most valuable posession to the Lord without thinking in an act of love. The woman clearly knew who Jesus was and therefore wanted to give the Lord the best of what she had. At that moment all she could think of was to anoint the Lord with this very expensive perfume. For me, it wasnt just the expensive perfume, it wass the very act of giving most generously to the Lord. And this please the lord so much that he rebuked the disciples.
