Define "Resurrection"? Resurrection is the coming of age when the saints will recieve their glorified bodies. There will be no more sickness or death or pain. They will rejoice in the Lord all the days of their lives - eternal. The Sadducees were afraid because they knew Jesus was aware of their trick question and still provided a justified answer and won the crowd. They were afriaid of Jesus because they had witnessed his miracles.

Why were the chief priests and scribes angry, what was it that Jesus said? Jesus has established his authority with the people and this authority was conflicting with the established authority of the Jewish religious order. The priests and scribes hated Jesus because they knew what he said was true and he further quoted Psalm 118 to point out their ignorance of scripture which has prophesised the event. I would say that the Jewish nation was no longer interested in God's truth but in a system they created (The Talmund) which was supposedly protected by GOD.
