What did Jesus imply by saying, "This is my blood of the new coveneant, which is poured out for many."? Consider that the Passover was a Jewish festival that remembered when a plague of death "passed over" the home of those Jewish people who marked their doors with blood from a lamb. Jews remembered this day with a feast of unleavened bread. The words of Jesus means that He will die and His blood will be poured out for the salvation not only of Jews but for all men and women.
