Why does Jesus encourage focusing on the daily task at hand and discourage predicting the future? Jesus wants that his people act like if today were the last day on earth, we must be ready to leave our body any moment God wants so we have to be prepared for it. I think that the end of the world is for each one the day we die.

Jesus said that after a period of destruction and distress, He the Son of Man will come in clouds with great power and with angels and will gather together his chosen ones from the four winds from the ends of the earth to the ends of the sky.
