Why was Peter`s rebuke a stumbling block to Jesus? Because Peter was not setting his mind on the things of God, but on the things of men. Jesus said that any person who wants to follow Him has to take up his cross, that is to say, has to suffer with joy.

Why didn`t Jesus want his disciples to tell others that He was the Christ? Because Jesus wanted that people recognize He was the Christ just by themselves, only by faith in God as their apostles did.
