Jesus was trying to teach that it is correct to do good without taking into account if it is Sabbath because when you find someone who is in need or sick you can help him any day and if you do that, God will bless you, God is more than the Sabbath.

Why does the Father hide things from the wise and intelligent and reveal them to infants? Because the wise and the intelligent aren't excluded from the faith and the Glory of God requires that faith never seems a wise privilege because human knowledge doesn't give the essential but rather hides it. At Jesus' time, there were only few wise and intelligent people among His disciples so God revealed the hide things to humble people.
