Jesus modeled this teaching to the Crucifixion,in that, Peter denied Jesus but Jesus forgive Him.  The soldiers mocked Him, they gambled for His clothes, one of the men at His side on the cross ask to be remembered and Jesus blessed him, all these are events where Jesus could have said, you do evil to me. I will repay you with evil, but that was not who He was, that was not in Him.

Jesus got angry but He never sin, He never lie. We are called to do good at all times, what we lend to others we give to the Lord. He wants our undivided attention and comes to live in our hearts if or when we call, Jesus is waiting He will not invite Himself in.
