Why did Jesus challenge the disciples to "give them (5000 people) something to eat" before multiplying the food?

He challenge them to see if they had enough faith in Him to believe He could feed the people with little or no food. The disciples wanted to send the people away but Jesus enqired about the food that was in their possession the He blessed it and gave to the disciples to distribute.

Jesus fed the 5000, had food remained, He made people happy; that was a great miracle. Our faith takes us to these sort of experiences. Faith and works go together, for the Bible says faith without works is dead.

In the middle of extreme busyness, Jesus departed to a mountain to pray. What do you learn from Jesus` example?

I learn that at times we need to retreat - go off like God and spend time reflecting on who we are in Christ, sometimes with a group other times we need to spend time alone with Him.

When you do that you spend quiet time with God and have a chance to seek His face and tell Him all problems.

Jesus listed specific things (which come from the heart) that makes one unclean. Do you recognize any of these in your own heart?

Yes, sometimes negative thoughts, doubts and fear. Recently I have been doing a lot more indept praying, reading the Bible and spending more time in the presence of God. I think my faith is growing stronger as I have a very good support christian in my life. I am still waiting and listening to God.
