Jesus is calling us to leave everything behind and come in and sup with Him, have some spiritual food. He is also teaching us not to take the Word of God to some people and reject others because in His sight all are equal. The man probably invited people in the upper class to his dinner and they all had excuses for not being able to attend, but when Jesus heard this, He told the servants to go out into the highways and byways and bring in the poor, the lame, the hungry and all who have nothing to eat and so they will be filled. You see the well does not need a doctor, but the sick does. We should preach the gospel to those who want to be fed and who is thirsting after the righteousness of God. By the time those people finish pursing their business it will be too late, they will be like the five virgins who were shut out because their had to go and refill their lamps. This host is Jesus, while some of us represent the invitees who will not turn up, we will be too busy but God waits on no man. He gives us a chance to repent and to seek Him. He is awesome.
