Define "Compassion"?

"Compassion" - a feeling of pity that makes one want to help or show mercy.

Jesus healed from leprosy, blindness and even raised the dead because of His compassionate nature. He was even worried when the multitude followed Him for three days without food. In Matthew 15:32  Jesus said to His disciples, "I feel sorry for these people. They have been here with me for three days, and they have nothing left to eat. I don't want to send them away hungry, or they will faint along the road."

We are call to have compassion on others because Jesus said when you help others you are helping Him. They are many who need our help and our compassion because they are suffering in many ways. To understand this, one should love and obey God,then reach out to that person and give him/her your full support.

Compassion is helping someone to conquer thier fears and weaknesses without including or exposing it in public (especially if one confides in you). Jesus is supreme over all, one can help others by allowing Him to reign in your Heart.

I am a very compassionate person to the point that sometimes I feel other people's pain, sometimes it makes me cry, I have ask God for strength to deal with such situation and to help in any way I can. Sometimes people just need someone to talk with them or listen to them, that goes a long way.

Jesus was angered by religious people inappropriately taking people`s money (robber`s den). Why did Jesus take such dramatic action and not just condemn with words?

Jesus was angered when He saw that the people who should know better, were misusing the temple. The purpose is to worship, not to be used as a robbers den.

What did you learn about Jesus` background that stands out or surprises you?

When Mary and Joseph first took Jesus to the Temple as a child, Simeon recognised that he was the Massiah and straightaway he blessed Him.

At age twelve (12) Jesus was in the Temple sitting amoung teachers listening and asking questions. The people were amazed at the knowledge and understanding He had because of the kind of questions He asked. At such a young age Jesus was a perfect human being.

What surprise me is that his mother did not understand when He told her she should know He would be in His Father's house. (Luke 2:49), even though she knew He would be the Massiah.

We have more knowledge of Jesus today, yet some do not believe in His coming again. He loves us now as He did on the cross for H is the same yesterday, today and forever.
