Mary was filled with pain when she discovered that the tomb where Jesus was lain was empty. Because of this she wept uncontrollably. So Jesus chose that time to show himself to comfort her and to let her know that He who was dead has arose from the grave and is alive and well. Jesus also used the opportunity to tell Mary to spread the news to his disciples that He has resurrected from the grave.

What do you think the disciples felt when they saw the tomb was empty? They were unbelieving disciples so when they saw that the tomb was empty they were frightened because of their unbelief.
