The "Messiah" was predicted to be a direct descendent of David, as Jesus was. Faith cometh by hearing and believing the word of God. Bartimaeus must have heard like many others of the coming of the Messiah from the decendent of David as his geanology was clearly proven and Jesus becaome very popular for proclaiming the good news, healing people, casting out demons, restoring sight, lame walking, dumb speaking etc, but most of all Bartimaeus believeth Jesus was the Messiah and with faith made his request. Throughout the Old Testement in particularly the prophets declared of the coming of the Messiah even though some didn't believed. Bartimaeus, believed with faith and so should we.

Jesus defines a great person as one who serves others. What did Jesus mean when he said he "did not come to be served, but to serve and give his life as a ransom for many."? Jesus meant He came to save the world from sin. His purpose was deliverance from worldly pleasures that lead to destruction. He gave his life as a ransom so the enemy could claim no rights on those who come to know Christ.

Jesus knew he would be killed in Jerusalem, and still he led the way. What characteristics does Jesus demonstrate here? Jesus demonstrates love, compasion and fulfillment of the promose and prophesy. He showed that He was sent by our father, that He is the son who came to set us free and show us the way ti eternal life.
