Yes. Again and again Jesus taught that everyone of us has immense value.
In God's view everyone of us is equal, each having a purpose belonging to His grand design. Then although someone is "lowly" by human standards, he is not by God's standard.
Human beings tend to interpret what God has said in their own favor, or by ways of human thinking. Yet the ways of God are so different from the ways of us. Though Jesus' coming, though the direct teaching from God Himself, we are revealed how the ways of God are like, and how man ought to behave.
"If any one wants to be first, he shall be last of all and servant of all." By this message Jesus made it clear that there is no such distinctions such as "lowly" or "high". Everyone receives her blessing from God. All we should do is to have faith in Him and accomplish everyday tasks with confidence that God has full control over our lives.
"Truly I say to you, this poor widow put in more than all the contributors to the treasury; for they all put in out of their surplus, but she, out of her poverty, put in all she owned, all she had to live on." This message reminds me that we shall never wait until we become rich to start to give others, as I always thought before. Giving and love is now. And it is God's will that compassion is not by throwing away things we no longer need or value, by giving out our surpluses. Rather, compassion is giving away treasures we value or even indispensible to us.
