The underlying question is "Why he was rejected in his own city". The prophet is never accepted in his town So Jesus was fulfilling the prophesy.

But the are Christians Who believes John only was the real prophet and King?

Even, before David became king Nathan prepared the way and the chosen one overcame the trial of Saul. So it's amazing that there are people who are believing only in John the Baptist, though John himself prophetised that the is the one coming who is greater than me.

A True Christian Passes the Tests.

Imagine a child who goes to school and fails the last high school grade more than five times and manages to make it on the fifth. Jesus himself was tested but He didn't fail the test, because He is the conquerer. Imagine a trusted king like David failing a war and the house of Juda succumbs to the enemies. Jesus was tempted but never failed in order to be a light between me and you in times of temptations. He is the King of Kings but he never fought physical wars like his ancestors David. He is the warrior that defeated the devil in a very hard aptitude test. I imagine myself craving for food or water after just three or five days of fasting. This is the lesson for some of us, who just break a fasting when you are tempted with rosted meat that you can't resist.
