Forgiveness means acceptance. Being forgiven means being given opportunity to repent. Although not undo the past, we can change at present and even future. It is hope instead of despair. I have more confidence in Lord than when I was forgiven little since I did not ask, because I myself have witnessed God's large heart.
No matter how wild I am, God loves me as always. His acceptance makes me calm down and quiet and meek and moved by His deep and strong affection. His acceptance helps me realize how powerful He is and I just esteem and admire Him. With His love and power, I'm willing to repent.
We are allowed by God to turn back although we cannot stop sinning. God knows well about our sinful lives which cannot be changed by ourselves and He knows we cannot help sinning for the seed of sins is inside our lives. He has deep mercy for us and asks us not to achieve the highest score since we are not able to but to follow Him and do our best.
We are sinful to be sure and far from the glory of God. But there is a good news that sins are not the end and we always have a new beginning whenever we ask for forgiveness.
We are not condemned for the Lord Jesus has declared: "God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him."( John 3:16-17) Yes, we have sinned but we are not doomed. On the contrary, we are saved by the Lord Jesus Christ and we have the key to get back to eternal life as the very very beginning. And the key is - to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. God desires compassion. He just forgives us when we ask for forgiveness from Him.
We must repent before the Condemnation, which will be the end. Repentance with a sinful life is never easy, we need guide for repentance. Moreover, we need tolerance to repent, that is, forgiveness. Jesus's death for us is greatest forgiveness we have ever had. And still we are forgiven everyday. By: Jialu SHEN Category: God Forgives You, If You Ask |
