First, at the time of Jesus` birth, the local Roman ruler, King Herod had initiated a massacre of all Jewish baby boys born at the time. However, Jesus was alive because he and his family were in Egypt during that time. I believe that it is the plan of God.
Second, at age 10, young Jewish boys would start to learn the Jewish law. When Jesus was 12 years old, Jesus` parents found him in the temple courts, setting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions. Everyone who heard him was amazed at his understanding and his answers. I believe that because Jesus is the Son of God.
Third, in first century Israel, women were considered second-class citizens, akin to slaves. Under those conditions, avid female followers of Jesus would be allowed to follow him with his disciples, and the authors of Jesus` biographies would mention their presence at all. Upon both are unusual. From this, we can know the love and attraction from Jesus.

In computer class am listening to Prayer by Secret Garden. Sometimes beautiful music will singing in my head and there will be this light/bright/warm feeling flowing in me, even when I am dreaming. I have heard beautiful music in dreams twice, those feelings convinced me that they were from GOD.

What did you learn about Jesus` background that stands out or surprises you? I learned more about Jesus` living time and I think it would helpful to understand more about Him and the bible. Especially in cultural setting/daily life, it was very good to imagine that Jesus` daily schedule in the farming village area of Nazareth and the people`s life styles in details including housing and food.
