Why were fulfillment of prophecies important? "note: Jesus predicted his death and resurrection? "...saying that the Son of Man must be delivered up into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again...". There are also many accounts in the old testament describing the death and resurrection of the Messiah hundreds to thousands of years before the event. Because God plans to save not only Israel but also all of human beings through Jesus by the long history of Jewish sufferings in the Bible.
