For Jesus knew that Matthew had been already a giver in secret to the poor being different from Zacchaeus.The reason is that what God wants is mercy,not sacrifice.Matthew was indeed a compassionate person.Notwithstanding Matthew was one of sinners according to Pharisees because of his tax collector.Therefore Jesus said,indeed I did not come to call the virtuous(offering sacrifice),but sinners(due to serving the Roman Empire in this case).
