What did you learn about Jesus` background that stands out or surprises you?

Everything because all the things are very new to me. Amazingly very much interesting to me and the main thing is that jesus have brothers too.

Why did Jesus´ penalty for "sin" need to include physical and emotional pain - why not just spiritual separation from God?

Jesus came down to the earth in human form and suffered physical and emotional pain. When we call to mind Jesus' physical and emotional suffering Jesus went through to save us from our sins, we too feel the physical and emotional pain and it helps us to do our very best not to to sin again.

What would have been your response if you had seen Jesus killed and then alive again? What would cause others to respond differently?

I could have frightened because it was unheard of that a person killed in such circumstances would be seen three days from the day of death walking as usual without any assistance or difficulties. It is hard to believe that such a miracle could happen and it happened.
