Why did Jesus tell the rich man to sell all his possessions before coming to follow Him? Richness in property is of the world which is like an obstacle in our spiritual life.so if we are to be fully devoted to God we need to forget about our worldly things and concentrate on God's word and work.That is why Jesus told the young man to be free from the things of the world so that he can follow God completely.
