Why did Jesus´ penalty for "sin" need to include physical and emotional pain - why not just spiritual separation from God?

God became flesh and made his dwelling among us as Jesus.Certain price has to be paid to save the mankind from the sin which includes physical and emotional pain.As son of man,Jesus not only paid the penalty but also spiritually seperated from God.This spiritual seperation is no need to suffer by the mankind,because of His heaviest sacrifice.
