Did Jesus feel he had performed enough miracles (signs) to convince the people to follow or listen to Jesus? No. Jesus did not come to perform miracles. Jesus came to destroy the works of satan. He came to announce the Good News that He came to take our punishment and give us eternal life and restore relationship with the Father. Jesus did not want to convince them by performing miracles. He wanted them/us to believe in Jesus.

Why did Jesus say "On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God, and keep it."?
Jesus is God. So the importance was not on his Birth, But the people to whom He spoke, listening to Him and obeying Him.
