Luke starts Jesus` story with the prediction of the birth of John the Baptist. According to Luke, what did the angel Gabriel predict as the future role of John the Baptist? He will turn many of the children of Israel to the Lord, their God. He will go before him in the spirit and power of Elijah, 'to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children,' and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord

How does Luke claim to distinguish his biography of Jesus from other recorded biographies from eyewitnesses (e.g. Matthew and John)? I presume that Luke interviewed Mary , his motherand others who received Jesus, in their homes, the apostles, and those who received healing, the men at the cross who saw Jesus giving up His life and the events after.
