So repenting makes one to prepare themselves from sin and prepare for the kingdom of God.Because to enter the Kingdom of God we need to be clean from our sins, and repentace is the only means to recognise our sins.

Why was it important for Jesus to go through a time of temptation? He sets an example for us by himself, that no temptation is beyond our endurance. Jesus has already overcome the temptation now its our turn to do the same but not by our strength by by HIS power only.

How did (does) repenting prepare someone for the Kingdom of God? Without repenting we cannot enter into the Kingdom of God. W must not only repent but be baptized in Jesus' name. Repent means to turn away from our sins. The sin which we inherited from eve and adam. And that sins can only be clean be Jesus name baptism.
