How do you think Peter felt after his discussion with Jesus?

I guess Peter realised the great responsibility Jesus was placing on his shoulders - to guide his flock - to lead His people. He must have recommitted himself to the service of Jesus because He genuinely loved Jesus. Despite the fact that he must have also realised that he was to have a torturous death - he reconciled to follow Jesus. Being human, he must have felt a great fear of death - but the Holy Spirit would give him strength.

Is there any special significance to the use of fish in the many miracles performed by Jesus - besides the fact the the disciples were mainly fishermen?

Why do you think Jesus chose to appear to the disciples in this way?

I think Jesus chose to appear in this way to his disciples because He wanted to convince them that He was alive and He was with them and that all was not lost.

This was the second time that there was a miraculous catch of fish and this time as the reading goes further, Jesus questions Peter whether he loves Him and when Peter said 'yes', He said 'feed my lamb'; the second time He asked the same question and Peter responded positively - Jesus said 'Take care of my Sheep' and last of all Jesus said 'Feed my sheep'.

Here we see that Jesus chooses Peter to be the leader of His disciples and instituted the First Church with Peter at the Head.
