God almighty put these three together as a body or man. therefore when the 'SIN' affects the spirit of a man, then it affects the body also. a sinful spirit is not better than an sinful body. for God is not respector of persons. Adam sinned and the punishment came upon his body also. he was thrown out from the garden of eden and to work hard for his livilyhood. No free food at all. Why did Jesus´ penalty for "sin" need to include physical and emotional pain - why not just spiritual separation from God? Jesus' penalty for "sin" need to include physical and emotional pain, as we experience these two pains starting from our birth, till our death. But spiritual seperation can be felt only by a selected few, who have experienced the love of 'GOD' and for that, we need to be matured enough to feel the love of God. We begin to search God only when we face trails and tribulations in life and when we surrender ourselves completely to God,our life changes.At this juncture we feel the seperation from God.Hence 'Jesus' penalty for "sin" need to include physical and emotional pain and not just spiritual seperation from God.

Why did Jesus´ penalty for "sin" need to include physical and emotional pain - why not just spiritual separation from God? The physical and emotional pain indicate which was revealed to prophet Isaiah in ch 53, that Jesus would be tortured in physically and emotionally as well.As it says in Is 53 that because of our sins he was wounded, beaten because of the evil we did.We are healed by the punishment he sufferd, made whole by the blows he received.He was treated harshly but endured it humbly, he never said a word. We see Jesus' emotional pain when he said aloud in the cross "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" It was God's purpose for us to see Jesus' suffering with our physical eyes and believe in Him for what he has done to save us from our sins. His endurace to physical and emotional pain also teaches us to be humble.
