What is "the Christ"? How is it different than one of the prophets?

The Christ means the messiah - the one who has come to save us. He is not just a prophet who told people how to behave (like the Muslims believe) but a true messiah - the Son of God.

Why do you think Jesus brought the man outside the village before performing the miracle?

Beacuse he did not want the Pharisees to know he was the Messiah yet

What was Jesus trying to teach the disciples? Note: Jesus left twelve baskets full when he fed the 5000 people on the Israel side (Israel had 12 main regions or tribes).

Jesus was trying to warn them not to trust in what raises out of Herod or out of the Pharisees, but to place trust only on the word of God. And to have faith in him, for if he could fill the twelve tribes of Israel with the word of God and have so much left over for non-Israelites, then why do they even wonder about having too little of anything?
