The conception of Jesus was foretold by Angel Gabriel to Mary who was a virgin and conception if John was foretold by another angel to Elizabeth whose husband Zechariah who was struck temporarily dumb when he disbelieved the angel. These extraordinary events proves the chosen conception are divinely inspired by the holy spirit. The strange movement of the yet unborn John in Elizabeths womb when Mary spoke signifies the bond of the yet to be born child Jesus and John.

Why is it significant that when Mary arrived with Jesus in her womb, the unborn John the Baptist leaped in the womb of his mother Elizabeth? Elizabeth being pregnant of John the Baptist even at her old age was a miracle from God because John the Baptist has a very significant role in the coming of Jesus, for he would be the one to prepare the people, the world for Jesus' coming for our salvation. And these two unborn babies in the wombs of their mothers felt their connection, thru the Holy Spirit.
